Land Survey – Pronghorn Antelope Buck
Description
Edition of 21. 13 H x 13 L x 5 W in.
Signed by the artist.
The pronghorn is a crucial symbol of the Wyoming landscape, where the largest population in North America resides. These animals are famous for their ability to sprint across the state’s open grasslands and sagebrush plains and engage in some of the longest overland migrations on the continent. Growing up in Wyoming I virtually lived with pronghorn. As a wildlife photographer I devoted a year to photographing their life cycle. Those images were my first successful submission to a wildlife magazine. – Mike Barlow
About the Artist | Mike Barlow is an American wildlife sculptor known for his dynamic bronze works that capture the anatomy, movement, and spirit of animals with remarkable precision. Raised in Wyoming in a family of artists, Barlow developed an early fascination with wildlife and sculpture, modeling animals in clay as a child and later traveling extensively through Africa and the American West to study animals in their natural habitats. Before becoming a full-time sculptor, he worked as a wildlife photographer and outfitter, experiences that continue to inform the authenticity and energy of his work. Today, Barlow’s sculptures—ranging from intimate tabletop pieces to monumental commissions—are collected internationally for their craftsmanship, movement, and deep reverence for the natural world.
